Great value for the CE bundle

I needed to get my continuing education hours done and was looking for the best deal. I found a great bundle for the 21-Hour Continuing Education Course. The price was really competitive compared to other places I checked. It felt like a solid investment for the hours I needed, and I definitely saved some money.

Good course, easy to use

I used Mi Contractor Training for my 3-Hour Continuing Education Course. It was pretty straightforward to navigate the website and the course material was clear. Didn't have any issues finishing it up. Felt good to get that done without a hassle.

Absolutely loved the course!

I just finished the 60-Hour Pre-License Course and I'm so glad I chose Mi Contractor Training! The material was super engaging and I actually learned a ton. Everything was so easy to understand, and I felt really prepared. I will absolutely be back for my continuing education, and I'm telling all my contractor friends about this place!

Decent course, quick delivery

I bought the 60-Hour Pre-License Course and overall it was a good experience. The course content was comprehensive and covered a lot of ground, which is what I expected. I did have a minor issue with one of the practice quizzes not loading right away, but it cleared up after a refresh. The certificate of completion was available fast, which was a plus. Value is good for what you get, just a small tech hiccup.

Detailed review of 60-Hour Pre-License

I purchased the 60-Hour Pre-License Course from Mi Contractor Training in late February. The ordering process was simple and immediate access to the course content was provided. The course is broken down into modules, which made it manageable to complete around my work schedule. I particularly found the 'Contracts and Risk Management' section to be very thorough and relevant. While most of the material was presented clearly, some of the older video lectures felt a bit dated in terms of production quality, but the information was still accurate. I also ordered the Michigan Residential Code Book, which arrived in about 5 days to reach Detroit, well-packaged. Customer support was responsive when I emailed about a question regarding state reporting; they clarified that my hours would be submitted automatically upon completion. The practice exams were helpful in preparing for the actual license test. Overall, a solid platform for getting your Michigan builder's license.

Any chance of a group discount if I get a few guys from my crew to sign up for the CE courses with me?

P Priya C. 1 month ago
They definitely do group discounts! I got one when me and two other guys signed up for the 21-hour course. Just gotta reach out to them.

Yeah, I'd ask. I've heard of people getting a break for group enrollments for the CE stuff.

Anyone know how long I actually have to finish the 60-hour course once I buy it? I'm worried about getting too busy.

B Brett 2 months ago
I think you get a full year to finish it. That's what it was when I signed up last spring anyway.

J Julia Brooks 1 month ago
Yeah, it's pretty generous. A lot longer than some other places. You should be good.

Hey, thinking about the 60-hour pre-license course. Is there usually a good discount for that one? Or should I wait for a sale?

J Jared 2 months ago
Yeah, they often have discounts for the 60-hour bundle. I got like $30 off last year. Keep an eye out for seasonal sales too, those can be good.

I think I saw something about veteran discounts for that too if that applies. Check the checkout screen, sometimes codes just pop up or you can google for them.

What's the difference between the 60-hour pre-license course here and like, Builders License Training Institute? Is one better for passing the actual state exam?

B Ben 2 months ago
I used Mi Contractor Training and passed first try. My buddy used BLTI and also passed. I think it comes down to personal preference for the platform. The content is similar since it all has to meet state requirements.

Mi Contractor Training courses were good, pretty easy to follow. Can't speak for BLTI directly, but I didn't feel like I missed anything with these guys.

Just wondering about the CE courses, like the 3-hour one. Do they report the hours to the state for us, or do we have to do that ourselves?

J James L. 2 months ago
They report it for you. You just complete the course and get your cert. It's pretty straightforward.

Yep, my hours showed up on LARA a few days after I finished. No need to do anything extra.

How legit is this place? I've seen some other sites, but want to make sure this is actually state-approved.

N Noor Hughes 2 months ago
Totally legit. They're on the state's list of approved providers. Used them for my pre-license and CE.

P Paula Marsh 2 months ago
They're approved, no worries there. Got my license through them. Don't sound like a scam.

Does anyone know if the Michigan Residential Code Book is included in the price of the 60-hour pre-license course or do I need to buy that separately?

C Carly Lindqvist 2 months ago
Nah, the books are usually separate. I had to buy mine. It's a pretty hefty book though, so makes sense.

L Lisa 2 months ago
Yeah, you buy the books on top of the course fee. Just factor that in when you're budgeting.

Are their courses mobile-friendly? Like, can I do the continuing ed stuff on my phone during lunch breaks?

L Laura Bennett 2 months ago
Yep, I did a bunch of my CE hours on my tablet and phone. It scales pretty well.

It's decent on a phone. Not always ideal for the longer videos, but for reading and quizzes it works fine.
